About Spicy Vines: Like most great things in life, our story is rooted in the Spirit of Tradition — in our case, the century old tradition of spicing wine. In 2010, Co-Founder, Crystalyn Hoffman spent a year traveling Europe, where she spent much of her time in Germany, the land of her heritage. It was in the Berlin Christmas markets where Crystalyn was first introduced to the century old craft of spicing wine when she had her first sip of Glühwein, a German mulled wine that is served hot around the holidays.

Upon returning to San Francisco, Crystalyn was inspired to put a fresh spin on the timeless craft of spicing wine. She elicited the help of Anders Pederson and the two formed Spicy Vines, a bold venture into the creation of their own Californian spiced wine. The result was a wine so diverse it could be served straight out of the bottle, in a cocktail or even heated up on a cold winter night like its traditional mulled wine counterpart.

It was Crystalyn and Anders’ adventurous spiced wine that challenged people to try something new, do something different and embrace life with a twist. This insatiable little spiced wine marked the beginning of the Spicy Vines story and a company known for its uniquely creative wines and unforgettable flavors.
